Mimi Seton was an artist
in Theatre and Music from childhood on.
As a writer-composer, her original pieces for the stage
gleaned over a dozen press awards in the U.S.
They ranged from pure aesthetic experiments
to social commentaries, often on the challenges facing
women and children
in a patriarchal society
Mimi's focus as of 2026
is creating designs for luxury scatter cushions, manufactured in the UK.

Inspiration
Mimi is of European origins
with one Indian great-grandfather.
Her lifelong attraction to Indian culture
accounts for her love of deep colors,
and the complex designs are inspired by
her Swiss-French grandmother
who was a master embroideress.
As a former composer,
Mimi also has a natural love of mathematics
including geometry,
and repeating, rhythmic lines.
TRIANGLES & OVALS
Symbolize the vagine and womb
and are often seen in Seton's art works,
placed within squares and rectangles.
The pairing of wild natural forms
with shapes that do not exist in Nature
but are concepts divised by men,
symbolizes the reconciliation
of opposites into unity and harmony.
